Alyssa is 2 months old or 9 weeks old. Take your pick, they are both true. I cannot believe how she seems to grow overnight sometimes. One morning her grandma told me, "She doesn't look like a newborn anymore." I panicked because I hadn't taken newborn pictures (like a real photo shoot kind of a thing) and Eloise was right she did not look anywhere as much a newborn as she had the day before. You can clearly see below what I am talking about.
I took pictures that day anyway, but she really didn't look tiny and new. She lost that newborn look fast. She was only 15 days old when I took the picture with the black hair bow!
Here is a comparison shot I have been doing just for kicks and giggles. (Thanks for the idea Vanessa.)
I am going to continue telling all about my sweet little Alyssa, but first let me explain the many pictures that follow. Alyssa has been socially smiling for about a month now. However, I can never seem to catch that melt your heart grin on camera. She'll be all smiles and then as soon as I pull the camera out she stops. She focuses in on that shiny thing and forgets that she was smiling. Oh well, I figure at some point I'll catch it. So here are some of my many attempts with some fun facts to break them up a bit.
Yesterday I took Alyssa to her two month check-up. I completely spaced that she had an appointment until 5 minutes before the scheduled appointment time. Whoops!
As can be expected they took all of the usual measurements.
She weighs 12 pounds 9 ounces (90th percentile)
That is a 4 pound 3 ounce gain since birth.
Alyssa is 24 inches long.
That puts her in the 98th percentile for height.
Kind of crazy to think that she has grown 4 inches since birth.
She loves facing outward and sitting up instead of laying down. She sleeps like a champ in the early evening hours. If only she would take that 5-6 hour nap starting after 9pm we would be golden.
She doesn't seem to mind tummy time at all. Unless of course she has spit up and promptly planted her face in it. Yes, you read that right I have another very spitty baby.
The most unexpected thing happened while we were waiting in the doctors office. I caught that ever elusive smile. Gotcha cutie! Yes the angles are funny, but I got that pretty smile.
And she continued to oblige me later in the evening. Thanks kiddo. I love you baby girl.

Oh those sweet smiles! She reminds me of my Nora girl, big and chubby and beautiful. Love the carseat compare, she really has grown so much so fast!
:) Darling! You know, I forgot about Enoch's appointment on Friday, too, until half an hour before it. Teehee.
Sweet that Alyssa is growing so well! I can believe she's grown four inches; the carseat shots show that so well.
Skye, she's so sweet and gorgeous, just as your other two daughters are!
