She's Three

My Kylie girl has had yet another birthday come and go. This one, just like the last one, tried to sneak up on me thanks to a move. The whole month of June just flew by for me and before I knew it my "I'll think about it later." plan for planning for Kylie's birthday was no longer viable. I think we did a good job of celebrating all things considered. Before I get to that let's just do a quick photo review of this cutie.

On her first birthday.
On the day she was born.
On her third birthday
A few days before her 2nd birthday

For the week leading up to her birthday this year Kylie asked over and over again for her birthday cake. "I wan my birfday cake." she would say. We'd kindly remind her that her birthday was not until next week and we would be sure and make her a birthday cake. Her Grandma M. had a pony cake pan which Kylie got pretty excited about when I showed it to her and she would change the color her pony cake should be quite regularly. When her birthday actually rolled around she announced that she wanted a Rainbow Dash cake. It is a good thing I enjoy decorating cakes or that may have been a bit daunting (that's a lot of colors to dye frosting). I think it turned out pretty well, and I had fun doing it.

We spent the morning on Kylie's special day attending a circus performance which her Uncle Steven was in. It was for a group of summer camps that was held at a local elementary school. Kylie seemed a little overwhelmed by all the screaming and cheering summer camp kids. However, once the craziness settled down and the show started she really seemed to enjoy the show.

Kylie was amazed at how many kids were in the gym

The best part may have been playing with the globes while the troop cleaned up
After the circus show was over we went to a nearby park to enjoy a picnic lunch. I absolutely loved the view! The Seattle area is SO green and beautiful.
Beautiful view at the park
We finished up the birthday fun by having cake and ice cream in the evening. We also opened presents. Kylie was so excited and happy. Again I have to say that I love watching my kids enjoy themselves. Those genuine smiles are contagious. Kylie was simply beaming.
Kylie blew out her own candles

Kylie was super excited about her puppy from Kaelyn

It was fun to have Matthew and Molly join us for cake and ice cream

Can I just say I love this picture....$10 is a small fortune when you are 3
All in all it was a very nice day. I am so thankful that Kylie is my little girl. She just keeps growing and learning and keeping life interesting for us. She is also learning to be a better listener, which is very exciting for everyone. I look forward to watching her grow this next year. I am also interested to see how she makes the transition to being a big sister soon. While I am ready to be done with this pregnancy, I don't know that I am ready to have Kylie transform into a big girl overnight. I'll miss Kylie being my baby girl.
